“One Ocean” Refit Home

This project started in the Spring of 2020 and was designed to give our students a place to use their new knowledge and skills at our school. Skagit Valley College Marine Technology Program has been providing quality instruction and inspiration for marine technicians and boat owners since 1968. Our goal is to share the experience of doing a major re-fit on an offshore capable sailboat during the 2020-2021 school year. The vessel we choose belonged to a former student and staff member Jennifer King. Her father completed the interior and took his family sailing in the 1990’s to Mexico, Hawaii, & Washington. It is a 39′ Westsail designed by Pacific Northwest legendary naval architect, Bob Perry.
