Cruisers College, 2024-2025
We really expanded our offerings, lengthened some courses, and received an amazing amount of good feedback.
We have our fall courses published and have lots of options – check us out.
I’m excited and my batteries are recharged after being on the for a couple of months this summer cruising the inside passage! I hope you get to take some courses and learn lots of information from our team.

Full year of Canvas Courses this season
Our past offerings have been going great and our 2 week professional course offered this past summer sold out and was a big hit with participants.
Mike Resse is planning a full set of courses who want to learn canvas this season. We start with our “Boot Camp” which will teach you the basics, and then offer many indvidual topics which are folowed up with makers-space offerings where you can come into our facility and have your own machine to sew all day with Mike there to offer support. These are fun days and we enjoy the variety of projects thata get completed.

This two-day seminar covers all the information you need to plan and prepare to cruise the Inside Passage to Southeast Alaska; including sights, activities, and destinations throughout Northern British Columbia, as well as Southeast Alaska.
For this popular seminar, we have 5 instructors over the 2-day course, sharing decades of knowledge covering this extensive territory. This is a magical trip, and we want to help you plan the trip of a lifetime. “This class will be referencing the following publications: 2025 Waggoner Cruising Guide, 2025 Ports & Passes, Local Knowledge A Skipper’s Reference, and the Douglass guidebook Exploring Southeast Alaska.”

The Mahina Offshore 2-day Cruising Seminar (174 presented since 1976 to 11,000 sailors) with Skagit Valley College’s Cruisers College is the event to attend if you have aspirations of sailing offshore. Learn about important topics including marine diesel engines and systems, marine electrical systems, plus sail repair, sewing, anchoring, storms, & costs of cruising. Included in the seminar cost of $595 per single or $995 per couple is one copy of the Offshore Cruising Companion, the 260-page textbook which retails for $60.
